Error tracking for a SaaS run by one or two developers
The best error tracking for a solo developer is the one that stays quiet, costs the same every month, and hands the stack trace to your coding agent.

Know when production breaks
- How Epure handles it
- Alerts on a new issue, a regression or a velocity spike, to Slack, Discord, Telegram or email
- What you would use otherwise
- Sentry's free Developer plan: 1 user, 5,000 errors a month
Keep the bill flat
- How Epure handles it
- $29 a month for 200,000 events; no automatic overage
- What you would use otherwise
- Sentry Team at $29 plus pay-as-you-go past 50,000 errors
Debug inside the editor
- How Epure handles it
- epure_issues_context over MCP or the CLI
- What you would use otherwise
- Copying stack traces into the agent by hand
Survive one looping error
- How Epure handles it
- Spike valve: 100 stored a minute per error, the rest counted
- What you would use otherwise
- Lowering the SDK sampleRate for every error
Spend no time operating it
- How Epure handles it
- Cloud, or self-hosted as Epure plus Postgres 16
- What you would use otherwise
- Self-hosted Sentry, a multi-service stack

You built the app with one other person, or alone, and Claude Code wrote a good share of it. Nobody is on call. What you want from error tracking is narrow: hear about a new problem once, read the line that broke, and hand it to the agent without copying anything.
What does a solo developer need from error tracking?
A solo developer needs error tracking that reports each problem once and stays silent otherwise. Epure groups repeats into one issue with an exact count, alerts only on a new issue, a regression or a velocity spike, and keeps up to 30 days of events on Pro. It tracks errors only, so there are no traces, replays or logs to configure, and nothing to sample by hand.
How much does error tracking cost a two-person SaaS?
Error tracking for a two-person SaaS costs between $15 and $113 a month at common volumes, depending on the tool and how many errors you send. The table below prices three monthly volumes with each vendor's monthly list price, errors only. GlitchTip is the cheapest at every volume shown. Epure stays flat until you choose Scale, and never bills past the quota. Sources: Sentry pricing and GlitchTip pricing, both checked 6 Nov 2026.

Checked 6 November 2026 on sentry.io/pricing, docs.sentry.io/pricing (Team pay-as-you-go $0.0003625 per error from 50k to 100k, $0.0002188 from 100k to 500k) and glitchtip.com/pricing. Sentry Seer adds $40 per active contributor.
Seats do not move these numbers on Epure: every plan has unlimited seats and projects. If a loop pushes a month past 200,000 events on Pro, Epure keeps counting, still stores the first event of each new issue within a 5% grace, and emails you. The full rule is on the Epure pricing page.
Should a solo developer self-host error tracking?
Self-host Epure if you already run a server and want the data on it; use Cloud if nobody should own backups. Self-hosted Epure is free under AGPL-3.0 and runs as two containers, one Rust binary plus Postgres 16. Idle, Epure used about 5 MiB and Postgres 48 MiB on a 2 vCPU VPS. You still own TLS, backups, restores and upgrades, and that time is the real price.
If you are weighing GlitchTip, Bugsink or self-hosted Sentry as well, self-hosted error tracking: five options compared lays out the operating cost of each.
Can my coding agent read the errors?
Yes. Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can read an Epure issue through the MCP server @epure-sh/mcp, the hosted MCP on Cloud, or the CLI @epure-sh/cli. One epure_issues_context call returns the stack, release and count. Event text is wrapped as untrusted input, and a read:agent scope keeps the agent read-only. Details: let Claude Code or Cursor read your production errors.
When is Epure the wrong choice for a small team?
- You need tracing, session replay, profiling or logs: Epure tracks errors only.
- You ship a mobile, native or game app that needs crash symbolication.
- You need SSO or a compliance certificate: Epure offers neither.
- You build on Lovable, Bolt or Replit and don't read the code: those platforms bundle fixing.
- You already use Sentry's MCP and Seer and they work for you: there is no reason to switch.
How do I try Epure on my SaaS?
Try Epure by changing one line. Request access to Epure Cloud (once you’re in: 14 days on Pro limits, no card), copy the project DSN into the Sentry SDK you already use, and throw a test error on staging. To undo it, restore the old DSN. The migration guide covers each step, including tracesSampleRate: 0 and source maps.
