This page is the canonical five-tool self-host comparison matrix for Sentry, GlitchTip, Bugsink, Telebugs, and Epure. It is useful if you leave with another tool. Head-to-heads stay on vs Sentry, vs GlitchTip, vs Bugsink, and vs Telebugs. The install shortlist narrative with lived picks stays on Best self-hosted error tracking. Hosted products stay on Sentry alternatives. Dated Epure MiB rows live only on Resource footprint.

Methodology

  • Sources are those four /vs pages and /blog/sentry-alternatives as they stand in this repo on 2026-10-05, plus first-party Epure compose (epure + postgres:16-alpine).
  • We did not open vendor sites again for this URL beyond facts already on those pages. If a number is only on a vendor site and not on those pages, it is not claimed.
  • Epure scope: exception events stored; transaction items discarded; replay and profile items skipped. Partial DSN swap compatibility, not full Sentry protocol parity.
  • Epure idle RAM is the dated full-stack table on Resource footprint: ~53 MiB combined on a 2026-09-23 VPS, ~82 MiB combined on 2026-09-12 Docker Desktop. Do not average those rows. Peer RAM floors stay the figures already on the source pages.
  • When Sentry footprint is discussed, disclose COMPOSE_PROFILES=errors-only before differentiating. That profile is still a large fleet.

Deployment model

  • Sentry: SaaS meters (Team about $26 for 50k errors, then pay-as-you-go) or the large self-host.
  • GlitchTip: self-host, and hosted plans exist on glitchtip.com (stated on the alternatives essay).
  • Bugsink: self-host, plus hosted EU plans (stated on vs Bugsink).
  • Telebugs: installer you pay for once, plus the VPS, plus vendor email.
  • Epure: Compose on a VPS ($0 license) or Cloud Pro $24 / Plus $79 list prices (Cloud not live as of 2026-10-05).

Epure JS/TS sourcemaps are documented. Other languages stay on raw frames. Not 100% Sentry protocol parity.

Choose them if

  • Sentry: replay, tracing, or profiling is daily work, or you already run their self-host.
  • GlitchTip: you require MIT, or Django, Celery, and Redis are normal ops.
  • Bugsink: one SQLite container matters more than an OSI license.
  • Telebugs: $299 once and vendor email beat a public Apache 2.0 repo.

Choose Epure if

  • You want Apache 2.0, two containers, PostgreSQL 16, and exception tracking.
  • You will set trace, replay, and profile sample rates to 0.
  • You accept partial SDK compatibility and no history import.

Reading order

Start here for the matrix. Open the matching /vs page when you have already narrowed to one rival. Open the blog shortlist when you want a lived pick and install narrative. Open Resource footprint when you need a MiB citation. Do not treat this URL as a second essay twin of the shortlist.

Last verified

Last verified 2026-10-05. The /vs pages record the same date as last reviewed. To correct a row, change the source page in this repo (the matching /vs file or the alternatives essay) and then this matrix. We do not keep a second set of vendor URLs here.

Not claimed

  • Current invoices, SLAs, and feature checklists that are not on the source pages.
  • A single blended idle floor. The VPS row and the Docker Desktop row stay separate on Resource footprint.
  • Speed rankings and full Sentry protocol parity.

How to cite

External editors: use the matrix plus the method date. Link the blog shortlist for narrative picks. Link proof for MiB. Do not attribute absolute Google ranks to Epure. Do not call Epure fully Sentry compatible.

Questions

Why is this not another /vs page?
Each /vs page is one head-to-head. This page is the five-tool matrix with the method written down. The alternatives essay still lists hosted products.
Where is the full shortlist essay?
Best self-hosted error tracking on the blog. This page is the compact research matrix.
Where do RAM numbers live?
Resource footprint owns dated Epure receipts. Sentry self-hosted RAM owns the suite-floor essay. This page links, does not invent MiB.
What if GlitchTip's RAM floor changed?
The 256 MB / 512 MB line is what the alternatives essay says their install docs listed. Re-read those sources before you buy hardware. This page will not invent a newer number.
How current is the matrix?
Method dated 2026-10-05. Re-check vendor docs before purchasing hardware.
