How much does Sentry cost?
Team is $26 a month on a yearly plan ($29 month to month). That covers 50 thousand errors, 5 million spans, and 50 replays. Business is $80 yearly with the same included volume and a higher overage rate. Past those quotas, Sentry bills pay-as-you-go. Rates change; confirm them on docs.sentry.io/pricing.
What a month of tracing costs
Leave tracing on at two requests a second with 15 spans each and you send about 77.8 million spans in 30 days. Team includes 5 million. The rest is about $145.52, so the month lands near $171.52. Errors from that app can still sit inside the 50 thousand included. Epure does not ingest spans. Self-host is $0.
What a crash loop costs
One thousand errors a second for 60 minutes is 3.6 million errors. On Team pay-as-you-go that is about $712.90 for the month. Cap spend at the quota and the included 50 thousand errors last about 50 seconds, then Sentry returns 429 and the rest of the incident is dark. Indie hackers hit this on the free 5 thousand quota in about 4 minutes 10 seconds at 20 errors a second.
When a flat bill is the point
Seed teams that only need exceptions, and VPS shops that cannot run Sentry's 20+ container self-host, want the number to stay put. Epure is exception-only: keep your Sentry SDK, swap the DSN, run two containers. Self-host is Apache 2.0 at github.com/epure-sh/epure. Cloud Pro is $24 for 200k errors when it ships. See self-host or Epure vs Sentry.
