How to use it, the formula & a worked example

What does this tool calculate?

This free Sentry pricing calculator estimates a monthly bill by adding a Sentry plan base to tiered pay-as-you-go usage. It uses a dated snapshot of Sentry's public rates, not your account data.

How to use it

  1. Choose tracing, an error spike, or the free-quota check.
  2. Enter the traffic, then choose the Sentry plan and billing cycle.
  3. Read the itemized result and its assumptions, then share the scenario.

Formula and result

Monthly estimate = plan base + modeled error charges + modeled span charges. Tracing spans = requests/second × spans/request × 2,592,000 seconds (30 days).

The result is a modeled monthly Sentry cost in USD. It excludes taxes, reserved-volume discounts, custom contracts, logs, profiling and Seer. The Epure price shown is Cloud Pro or Scale, billed monthly, which covers errors only: no tracing or replay.

Worked example

Example, not a typical bill: 2 requests/second × 15 spans/request × 30 days = 77,760,000 spans. Under Sentry's dated Team annual-billing model, $26 base + $145.52 span usage = $171.52/month equivalent. This scenario includes no error usage.

Sentry pricing calculator questions

How does this Sentry pricing calculator work?
The calculator adds the Sentry plan base to tiered pay-as-you-go charges for errors and spans. Pick a tracing, error-spike or free-quota scenario, enter your traffic, then choose Team or Business and the billing cycle. Every line of the estimate is itemized, and the scenario URL can be shared.
Is this my actual Sentry bill?
No. The estimate uses Sentry's public rate snapshot dated 22 September 2026; the Team rates still matched docs.sentry.io/pricing on 6 November 2026. Reserved-volume discounts, custom contracts, taxes, logs, profiling and Seer are not modeled. Check your Sentry usage page before deciding.
Does the Epure price include tracing and replay?
No. Epure tracks errors only: Cloud Pro is $29 a month for 200,000 events and Scale $89 for 1,500,000, with no tracing, replay or profiling on any plan. If your Sentry bill is mostly spans, turning off Sentry tracing may fix it without switching.
What does Epure charge past its quota?
Nothing. Epure never bills overage automatically. Past the monthly quota it keeps counting every occurrence and still stores the first event of each new or regressed issue, up to a 5% grace, then emails you. Read the over-quota rule.
Can I try Epure without moving production?
Yes. Request access to Epure Cloud (once you’re in: 14 days on Pro limits, no card), change the DSN in a staging build, and send a test error. Your Sentry SDK stays, and restoring the old DSN rolls it back. Move from Sentry without changing your SDK.
